Admire the city from the top

At the top of Mount Benacantil is the emblem of the city of Alicante. The Castle of Santa Barbara was built in 1580 and is one of the most important medieval fortresses in Spain. 

If you climb to the top, you can enjoy incredible views of the whole city of Alicante. In addition, it often hosts events, concerts and activities for the whole family.

A stroll along the esplanade

In the middle of Alicante’s seafront promenade is the famous esplanade. Thousands of tesserae represent the waves of the sea on more than half a kilometre of pavement. 

While strolling under a sky of palm trees, you can buy handicrafts and souvenirs at the traditional hippie stalls. Take a break and have a delicious ice cream or tapas in the thousands of bars and restaurants you’ll find.

Also, the Sierra de Aitana near Benidorm, which, at 1,558 metres, is the highest peak in the whole province of Alicante. These are great natural spaces where you can go hiking or trekking far from the city.
